Fried chicken wings were AMAZING but didn't come with enough sauce.
Dishes are made to share.
We had the vegan dumplings but didn't like them.
Lemongrass chicken for the main, very nice. Make sure you add rice as meals don't come with rice. We also had wok greens and had to take food home in a container as ordered too much.
Dessert was chilli chocolate fondant and that was the best I've ever had!
Staff were welcoming and helpful.

Very nice location and food was mostly okay. However, the duck was disappointing. Flavors were nice, but what happened to the flesh? I felt as though I was picking at what was left on the carcass. Far to expensive for the price.
The service was appalling. No eye contact and didn't give us enough time to check out the menu. A little animation would have gone a long way.
The food arrived in a timely manner, but again no words spoken or eye contact. Our food was plonked on the table and she whisked herself away.
We will not be back. Part of the experience of sharing a meal with someone is the people that serve you - their friendliness and interest in making the diner feel welcome. This restaurant has a long way to go in this area.

Love, love, loved this place. I want to eat everything on the menu. Staff were brilliant and the atmosphere was ace.Make sure you try the 🌶 chocolate fondant, it's worth the wait.

We highly recommend eating here. Favorites are the popcorn prawns, kaffir lime chicken, pork belly and shaking beef. Love the tapioca as well for a refreshing dessert.
Great customer service.
Can get a bit noisy, so it's no good if you want a quiet romantic night. We love it though. Great for groups as well.
We always forget to take photos as we are so eager to eat the yummy dishes.

Not my first visit to Cheek and Chong - but the first time I ordered the Pad Thai - what a disaster.( I spoke to the waitress when I finally got her attention - seems the staff are more interested in talking to each other - or staring out the window). She appeared to know all about Pad Thai served in other locations - but assured me the Pad Thai we had in front of us was the original version.....the contents were soaked in a spicey salty sauce and it was hard to determine flavours and assured me she would mention my concerns to the chef. On reading the long history of review about the poor quality of this dish I would say (1) the Chef has never been told of the concerns or (2) the chef has ignored the customer complaints. IF we ever do dine again at Cheek and Chong - which is unlikely given some many other choices in Orewa - note to self - dont order the Pad Thai!!
